structured and free play
There are so many ways that kids can benefit from play. We call it a school/activites balance and it is the reason afterschool activites were invented.
Creating the balance with Free Play
They also need to time to 'free play' without guidance, so that they can practice their social skills. It teaches them responsibility, independence and helps them overcome their challenges through trial and error as they make mistakes.
Of course kids can get all of this at home, and they shoudl have enough time to play as they spend so much time in school. Why do you need us
I'm sure every parent has experienced being at the park and their minds are else where- thinking about dinner, that phone call they nee dot make, the deadline that they need to meet, when "Johnny' wants just 5 more minutes which turns into ten then twenty then frustration as you wih they could understadn that you would stay all day if you could.
Well we can- on Saturdays at least and on every holiday when they kids are suddenlt home and you are expected to drop everything and make their day special.
You can't always look at every craft they makes, every stroke on their paper, and the worst part if the guilt because you all want your kids to be happy all the time.
Well that's where a preschool teacher comes in who is used to getting kids organized, help them learn and structure activities based on their development.
Preschool teachers know how to provided differentiated instruction beased on a child's needs- including their play schedule.
We know when to switch up the activities, navigate the relationships, care for their boo boos and give them hugs and reassurances and we love to do it, because at the heart of ever preschool teacher is a erosn who just want to have fun and who wants thier kids to have fun and be fulfilled
In todays world we want kids to be active both in mind and body. Kids need to run around and play as much as possible
You are doing us a favor when you leave your kids with us!
So what kidn of games do we play-
Parks: We use a variety of parks for their diffreent play equipment and the room children have to play structured games
Structured Games Outside:Kid friendly games like, tag, race, soccer, jump rope, musical blankets, treasure hunts
Structured Games Inside: Musical chairs
Our preschoolers and kindergarten outdoor play takes place at various parks in Broward County.
Why do we use different parks?
Each park has different play structures and landscape for play which inspires creativitity.
It allows kids to meet new people which helps them build a wider network of friendships
When there is a severe weather forecast, the event will be canceled or moved to an indoor venue for indoor games for all preschoolers and kindergartners
